Mondays are always slammed and today I was trying hard to knock out projects while being extremely tired because after leadership meeting Sunday night we talked late into the night with some who stayed. Always worth it though! What precious people...what a great team. We had a fantastic day at church yesterday, by the way!
After work I went home, biked 3 and 1/2 miles and then got ready to go meet the Garlands at Sonny's for Tom's Dad's "remembrance'" dinner. Today was his Dad's birthday and since his Dad has passed away he always eats at Sonny's on today's date since it was his Dad's favorite place to eat. It's a hard day for Tom and he wanted us to join him, so we did. Not that we don't like joining them ANYTIME! Tonight we had a good time talking and laughing lots and thinking of happy things. I came home to work on a few writing projects and now I"m hitting the sack with the Teeb.
That was my day. I'll post some deep thoughts later this week...promise!

My life coaching class was yesterday and this is without a doubt one of my all time favorite things not just of the month, but out of everything in the whole wide world! We had a great morning and I am feeling like some members of the group are really moving forward. I am so proud of each of them! That was the best part of my day.
After life coaching I went to vacuum the sanctuary stage now that Kidzturn has packed up and moved to their next destination. Yes, we have someone else to do this, but I wanted it done "my way". Every woman can understand that I'm sure. Certain things drive me crazy on the platform and I don't always get around to fixing them but when I do, I do. So after taking an hour to fix it like I wanted it and take care of another few church projects I finally I headed home to start other things. Before I did I took a much needed nap. I didn't intend to sleep that long but I have really been exhausted from a few things that I haven't spoken about here on the blog, but maybe one day. There is nothing wrong. Some of you who read faithfully especially through the years know of different struggles I've had and I'm just setting you at ease, I am not in a crisis or sick or anything. Just have some other things going on that I am trying to find balance and rest right now.
So I slept. Longer than I planned on but that's okay. Then I moved on to cleaning, ironing, washing clothes, etc. There's a lot to be done for Sunday each week aside from service preparation...just getting our family ready personally and chores at home and stuff like that -- just like all of you reading this have, I'm sure. We have a leadership meeting tonight so I also was getting ready for that. I always love our team meetings.
Speaking of leaders - I know many of you are praying for our children's pastor, Trinity Mackley. He has cancer and is going through chemo. We were going to be having a special day of appreciation to honor he and Misty in church today but we will not be able to. He had to be admitted to Moffitt Cancer Center last night and he will be staying overnight a few days. He caught a cold and has a fever and that is not good. Please be in extra special prayer for him. You can read his blog where he journals his journey here. If you have time please stop over there on his blog and leave a comment and let him know you are lifting him up. He is always amazed when my readers who don't even know him stop over there and I tell him you are the most caring people in the world and he has many he doesn't even know lifting him up!!! For all of you Northsiders, just FYI that we will have the appreciation festivities next Sunday or the first Sunday he is back, whenever that is but I am believing in faith it will be next Sunday.
Here's to a great Sunday morning service...I have faith it will be amazing. God is going to show up and anything can happen.
Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Jordan said, "Mom, you need to put this on your blog and let people know about it so it won't happen to them and they won't get deceived by this." He also wanted me to post the transcript of his chat with this person to show you just the type of things these people say. Please let people know about this deception that is happening.
As you can see when Jordan rebuked this person they quickly logged off:

You will not get away with this crime, I promise you. Shame on you, shame! Mike is a committed Christian and I am telling you the God he serves will not allow you to get away with this and GOD ALMIGHTY WILL TAKE VENGEANCE UPON YOU!!! Get ready because the weapon of the Lord is on it's way to bring you down, man. Better brace for it. It's headed your way.

My friend Janice sent me this and it brought back such memories. I do remember all of them but only commented some of them. Those of you who are from Maryland, enjoy!* You know how to pronounce "Towson".
* You remember what the Inner Harbor looked like before it was the Inner Harbor. (yes I do!)
* You ate at Haussner's. (Yes, I did several times notably after my high school graduation. The art was amazing.)
* You remember Friendship Airport.
* You remember driving over the old Kent narrows Draw-Bridge that snarled weekend traffic coming home from the Ocean.
* You love the Domino Sugar sign you can see across the harbor. (yes, I do. It was cool seeing it recently in the movie, "She's Just Not That Into You.")
* You remember the rotating restaurant on top off the Holiday Inn
on Light Street. (Yes!!! I went there too one time for a special occasion. I loved it.)
* You know Annapolis and Hopkins are national treasures and you get a kick out of hearing them named in movies or TV. (MMmmm hmm. Sure do)

TOP TEN REASONS MEN SHOULD NOT BE ORDAINED FOR MINISTRY:
10. A man's place is in the army.
9. The pastoral duties of men who have children might distract them from the responsibility of being a parent.
8. The physique of men indicates that they are more suited to such tasks as chopping down trees and wrestling mountain lions. It would be unnatural for them to do ministerial tasks.
7. Man was created before woman, obviously as a prototype. Thus, they represent an experiment rather than the crowning achievement of creation.
6. Men are too emotional to be priests or pastors. Their conduct at football and basketball games demonstrates this.
5. Some men are handsome, and this will distract women worshipers.
4. Pastors need to nurture their congregations. But this is not a traditional male role. Throughout history, women have been recognized as not only more skilled than men at nurturing, but also more fervently attracted to it. This makes them the obvious choice for ordination.
3. Men are prone to violence. No really masculine man wants to settle disputes except by fighting about them. Thus they would be poor role models as well as dangerously unstable in positions of leadership.
2. The New Testament tells us that Jesus was betrayed by a man. His lack of faith and ensuing punishment remind us of the subordinated position that all men should take.
1. Men can still be involved in church activities, even without being ordained. They can sweep sidewalks, repair the church roof, and perhaps even lead the song service on Father's Day. By confining themselves to such traditional male roles, they can still be vitally important in the life of the church.

My friend Pastor Leanne Weber and her husband Patrick are losing weight on behalf of BGMC!
Debbie Shank, pastor's wife and women's conference leader/speaker has this great post on the real truth of the Proverbs 31 Woman.
My friend Cassandra Stafford, also a pastor's wife, wrote this post that immediately resonated with my heart and made me want to sit down with a cup of coffee and a bunch of PW friends.
This isn't exactly the best performance of a song that you've ever seen or heard, however I think the funniest thing is, it's definitely one of the worst examples of songwriting that I've ever experienced. But one thing for sure, this gave me a HUGE laugh. The funniest thing is, these people are SERIOUS! Enjoy!

Super Bowl XLIII Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, the only team to win six titles, will soon be losing half of those trophies. After a meeting between NFL Commissioner Rodger Gadel and President Barack Hussein Obama, Obama decided to redistribute half of their Steeler Super Bowl victories and trophies to less fortunate teams in the league. “We live everyday in the country that invented the Super Bowl.” said Obama “We are not about to lose this Great American tradition in the wake of these difficult times.”
Obama’s plan calls for the Steelers, who are a successful NFL team, to give half of their Super Bowl trophies to teams that are not successful or have not been as successful as the Steelers. “The Detroit Loins are just as much a part of the same fiber of the NFL as the Steelers and they should, no rather will, be entitled to a Super Bowl Trophy as well.” Obama explains in his plan that he has imposed on Godel and the NFL.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, who by virtue of hard work, excellent team play, stellar draft choices, responsible investing of free agents, careful hiring of coaches and excellent community service and commitment to their fans, has prospered greatly during the past 30 years and have won six Super Bowl Trophies. But President Barack Hussein Obama’s plan calls for the Pittsburgh Steelers to carry the larger burden of the NFL’s less successful teams. Obama went on to further proclaim, “In these difficult times we are all in this to work together. We must reclaim the NFL Championship Dream for every team, for every city and for every fan.”“My plan will not affect 31 of the 32 teams in the league.” Obama assures. That’s over 95 percent of the teams in the NFL will not have to worry about losing any Super Bowl Trophies. “The worst teams in the NFL and the teams that can’t seem to get a break and win a championship will no longer have to worry about going without a title.” Obama promises. “We are a country and league of hope. We all need to make a change. It does not matter the color of the teams uniforms, the personal decisions that the teams make or their performance but rather if they are a member of this great American league.”
The Super Bowl XLIII trophy will be redistributed to the 0-16 Detroit Lions. Through no fault of their own incompetence, the Lions could not manage a victory all season and this trophy will help ease the pain of their lack of performance and give them hope once again. The redistribution of Super Bowl XL trophy will go directly to the Steeler’s division rival the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals who also have fallen on hard times have never won a Super Bowl. This victory will bring a smile to hundreds of Bengal fans all over the world as they can now celebrate.
Finally, one of the Steeler’s two Super Bowl victories over the Dallas Cowboys will go back to the Cowboys since the league needs to provide hope in the face of difficulty and provide hope in the face of uncertainty. This is a heavy burden for the Steelers but together we can all prosper. All hope is not lost for Pittsburgh fans, Barack Hussein Obama has another plan in place. Obama has meet with MLB and commissioner Bud Selig on a similar plan. The New York Yankees will redistribute two of their world series trophies to the Pittsburgh Pirates as a supplement to their loosing 16 straight seasons and counting. This plan will help stimulate the Pirates and enable them to regain the American Dream. Barack Hussein Obama will be meeting with the NHL and Michael Phelps in the upcoming weeks as this issue is high on his agenda for “Hope and Change."

First, she has encouraged her son to go to night clubs and have one night stands and is saddened that he is not having any luck. Second, she is considering sending him to a brothel if she can't find someone to have sex with him soon through the dating scene. Third, I am sure these people are not Christians, however what happened to LOVE? Even for someone who has no religious affiliation, I find it appalling behavior. Why isn't she encouraging him instead to find a friend and then ultimately a mate -- a wife, and allow the plan to unfold in that way?
For those who say that he probably wouldn't find anyone, I disagree. First, there are cases of people who are not disabled marrying disabled people. (Joni Eareckson Tada being just one famous one - although she does not have downs, she is a quadripligic and is married to a completely healthy man who she married AFTER becoming disabled.) Second, I have heard of several cases of downs syndrome individuals marrying others also with downs syndrome that they are acquainted with from various schools or social groups they are a part of. What a beautiful story of love and commitment that would be, but THIS??! This is wacked.
Just when you think the world can't get any more bizarre, a story comes out like this.

would hear a bang or a splat in the middle of the night and come into his room. He would stand up on the bars of his crib and leap off into the dark, unafraid. We used to have to tie his legs down with long tube socks on his high chair even in public, because if we didn't he would injure himself terribly. It must have looked like we were abusive parents, tying our child down while he squirmed, but if we did not, he would seriously be injured. He hardly slept and I was absolutely run ragged.
ut them in their car seats in preparation to go home. Since it was only a few feet or so out the door I said it was fine. But a moment later, Laura came rushing in and crying saying that she had no idea what happened but Jordan had "escaped". What actually took place was that when they walked out the door she let go of his hand for a second. That's all it takes with Jordan...a second. We raced outside yelling his name, running between cars, shouting, looking under cars, going towards the road. We couldn't find him anywhere. Finally after about five minutes which seemed like an eternity, we heard a sweet tiny voice call out, "Momma, I'm up here!" Gazing up, we saw that Jordan was on the roof of the McDonalds! Yes, I. AM. SERIOUS.
ocked. Jordan had noticed it and when Laura let go of his hand he ran and shimmied up the ladder so fast, by the time she looked around he was evidently already up where she never thought to look! Amazing. To make a very long story short, my husband climbed up the ladder to get him off of the roof, while I was imploring him to please stand still and not jump. (He would have -- he has no fear.)
s). He climbs walls where there is nothing to hold onto, can still run faster than any kid I know and whip up an entire dinner in under an hour and have a tremendous buffet spread on the table.
h ran to the sanctuary and found me because Jordan had escaped from the nursery and run out toward a four lane highway, or years later when his principal in middle school called because he had taken over the leadership of the school cafeteria. He commanded all the student's attention by standing on top of a table and singing a song for everyone and performed his own little show. (Part of the issue is, he is truly funny so many times this just eggs him on more when people laugh at his antics.)
He said, "I know Mom but what teacher goes and makes all the answers B? That was so dumb. I just couldn't believe it so I yelled!"
ld you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
e to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:28 & 29:
Maddie yesterday walking around on our bed. She is starting to be more like her old self although she's wearing this contraption on her head.

I love her so much. I really do not know what I would ever do if something happened to our precious Maddie. I'm so glad this day is over and we can move on. Hopefully she will never ever have to have any more procedures.
A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said: "Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even one year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together."
So the doctor said: "Ok, and what do you want me to do?"
She said: "I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this."
The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: "I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too."
She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.
Then he continued: "You see, in order for you not to have to take care of two babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms."
The lady was horrified and said: "No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!"
"I agree", the doctor replied. "But you seemed to be ok with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution."
The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point. He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!
If only our very "wise" President had such wisdom.
* Photos are of me with a precious little one from our church, Jedidiah Scott Lilly. I can't have any more babies but at least I can hold everyone else's. :-)
