What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Raising them right

What a fantastic service this past week!!! God has been moving so mightily and lives are being changed. This past Sunday night we also hosted newcomer's night in our home and it was packed!   While Dustin and Jordan mingled with the adults, Savanna tried to keep all the kids corralled as best she could although there were an overwhelming amount of them. Bite away!

If you are the object of backbiting, get excited!  In fact if somebody is backbiting you will you just stop reading this for a minute, lift up your hands and SHOUT!!!  I could have said, "if you are the "victim" of backbiting but the truth is, YOU ARE NOT A VICTIM, YOU ARE A VICTOR! If you are experiencing backbiting, please think about the fact that you're in front!  That's why I told you to shout -- because you have something to be excited about.  For someone to bite your back they have to be behind you.   That's right, this means you are ahead and they are behind.   You are further along than they are if they are biting your back. There are times I've been discouraged when someone is talking trash about me and my wise husband has always encouraged me by saying that people who do this have no choice but to talk about me because they can't keep up with me!  I'm too busy making a difference in the world and have whiz...

Be careful where you find refuge!

A man from Texas says that he had a plan that if he were ever caught out in a tornado or such, he would pull alongside the road and hide in a culvert.  (A culvert is a large pipe used to channel water and is used to allow water to pass underneath a road, railway, or embankment for example.)  The man changed his mind  upon seeing these two photos taken by a Texas Power and Light crew who were putting in lines for an addition to the Hallettsville Airport and found the following in a culvert they were using... The gator was 18' 2" long. The rattlesnake roundup totaled 87. In what might we find "refuge"? Drugs (illegal or abuse of prescription ones?) Abuse of alcoholic beverages? The arms of a married person? (Not our own...) Porn? Materialism? New age philosophies? People who tell you what you WANT to hear rather than what you NEED to hear? Fruit Bearing 101

Do we really mean half the stuff we sing?  I'm not too sure. "Come live in me, all my life...take over..." "All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give..." "Take me, mold me, use me, fill me, I give my life to the potter's hand..." Someone once said, "Christians don't tell lies, we sing them." We want to be powerful but often don't want to yield ourselves to the process that brings about the fruit of the spirit.  Fruit comes about only by trial and testing.  If developing the fruit of the spirit contained no challenges what would it really mean anyway?  Imagine going to a school where there were no pop quizzes, no exams, no benchmarks for learning.  What would the diploma mean?  Really nothing.  To achieve anything we must be tested.  Being examined and passing the test is proof that we have learned and we are ready for the next level. This day is going to be off the chain...

I'm so excited...I just can't hide it!   Today is going to be a great day at Celebration Church , I just know it in my knower.  God is going to show up and show off.   Newcomer's Night is at our house tonight and so far we have 25 newcomers signed up to come!!!  Who knows, we might get more at the last minute who RSVP.  I hope so!   The more the merrier.    We're doing a BBQ.  Most of the time we just do a dessert fellowship for newcomers night but this time I was just in the mood to do something more, so we are.  Larry will grill chicken, and I made a humongous amount of potato salad, pasta salad, stuffed eggs (I never call them deviled eggs...I don't want deviled ANYTHING) and my special recipe for baked beans.  (It's full of about 5 different kinds of beans, ground beef, bacon and more...it's absolutely to live for!)  We'll polish all that off with watermelon and of course plenty of iced tea and ...

Demolition Derby

On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."   II Corinthians 10:3-5  Every day, I have my own spiritual demolition derby.  This consists of taking II Corinthians 10:3-5 seriously.  The way that I choose to solve my problems is through prayer, demolishing every assignment that the enemy has set up.  It is my privilege to engage in war against an enemy that has already lost.   (I've read the back of the book so I already know the ending.)  I believe this is why Paul calls our journey "the good fight of faith".   Why is it a good fight?  Well because we are guaranteed to win it!   We are fighting a war th...

If you wanna be powerful get in your closet

Are you facing a battle today?  I'm facing one most of the time because I'm a person who gets things done.  And the devil is always after a person who gets things done!  Please don't confuse a person who gets attacked by the enemy because they are a mover and shaker with a person who gets attacked because they are lazy.  Big difference there.     For those of you who are in the war zone because you are  out on kingdom assignment, let me encourage you to keep getting on your face before God every day because that's where the power is.   A person has not even begun to fight until they pray.   Through faith we put on our armor but through prayer we implement the battle plan.    E.M.
