What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Great day!!!


Yesterday was a phenomenal day at district council. I am so excited about several things that were unexpected yet wonderful blessings:

1) The district credential renewal fee has now been abolished. Give me a shout up here in this blog! :-) lol

2) Pastor Ed Russo was voted in as assistant superintendent! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely could not be happier about this. And everyone I am friends with is thrilled about it, and can't stop talking about how fantastic it is.

Yesterday we had a great women 's luncheon and Maria brought a fantastic message on synergy. Last night was Pastor Betzer's last message as asst. supt and he was excellent as usual. I will miss his messages at council greatly but look forward to what is to come in other ways. The fact is, I tape his weekly messages on TV each week and listen to them so I will still have a weekly Betzer fix. :-) ha ha!

We had dinner before service and dessert afterwards with friends and so enjoyed the time and came back to our hotel way too late but it was worth it to connect and spend time encouraging one another and sharing. This morning is the wisdom conference and three people I just think the world of are all speaking, which I'm very much looking forward to. (Pastor Max Yeary, Marsha Woolley (district WM director) and Pastor Russ Jones.) We'll be greatly inspired, I'm sure.

Sounds like a great council meeting and NO RENEWEL FEES! I think I feel God calling us to the state of FL! (ha ha)

Just to clarify...we do have to send our renewal fee that goes to Springfield every year just like all of you do. What was abolished is an extra $50 renewal fee that was started a few years ago by the district. This was EXTRA in addition to what we already pay to Springfield. A lot of people were (understandably) NOT happy about it, and now it has been abolished so we just owe our pack of money to Springfield now. So, I wouldn't pack the moving truck so fast, gals... lol

I was wondering about that - I didn't think the national office would give up all their ministers' fees from the state of Florida, lol!!

Oh, well - the weather's getting nice here again, so I won't be getting the [usual!] urge to move south until around January of 2010 :o).

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
