What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started i...

Please pray!
Re-cap of tonight

This post will not be long. I need sleep and your prayers. I have to preach in the morning and in the last 24 hours I have caught a very nasty cold that makes it very hard to function. First there are the feelings of the cold but then when taking cold meds, you know how that makes a person feel. (Drowsy, out of it, etc.) I can't afford to have anything hindering me in the morning...I have such a word to deliver and I know the enemy has an assignment against it. Please, please push back with me in prayer. Have you ever taken Alka Seltzer cold medication? It's the most horrible stuff, absolutely disgusting to swallow but yet I am sitting here doing it because I am feeling so desperately bad. I had grandiose plans of what I was going to do in the few hours before the conference started and upon getting here, I immediately laid down and went to sleep for 3 hours til the service. All of you reading this in time ~ thanks for your prayers. I have a strong message to deliver on the role of women of God in the end times. A strategic message! Thank you for lifting me up.

Marsha spoke tonight and her message was, "The Wheel to Nowhere". Her hampsters were the inpiration for it. Great message. Ironically enough WITHOUT TALKING ABOUT IT AT ALL, her text for tonight is the same as mine for tomorrow. What a God thing.

Some points of her message:

  • We are called to be intentional women.

  • The right thing at the wrong time is still the wrong thing.

  • Some of us are convinced that God can't help us where we are at. The enemy tries to convince us.

  • The presence of God changes EVERYTHING.

  • Some of us just need a "honeymoon" with Jesus.

  • We believe there are certain issues in our lives that will keep us from being all God has called us to be.

  • Know -- whatever you are going through, it is not always going to be like this.

  • As soon as God speaks something into your life, the devil goes to work to try to denounce it and destroy it. Don't let him.

Goodnight all...again, please keep me in prayer that this cold would not hinder what God wants to do and that I can speak boldly and clearly with no problems.

Well, I read this too late. You need Emergen-C packets. These are sold at Sams, Walmart and probablly publix, walgreens, etc. You should take about 3-4 today---it would have helped greatly last night, this morning, lunchtime and dinner. Its a booster supplement-ish. Get a big box from sams if Larry doesn't get some today. I started getting it and Im not supposed to get sick. I'd already had the headache, etc. It went away. So you need it with or without the medicine. You will definitely feel better. I know things went well this morning in spite of it. Praying for you, Sharon J

WATCH OUT FOR THE
NEW FACEBOOK SCAM!!!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Jordan said, "Mom, you need to put this on your blog and let people know about it so it won't happen to ...

Have you chosen a word of the year?

Selecting a personal word of the year has been my custom for many years. The word is my theme of the year and something for me to focus on, to build my faith and to grow. Each year I look for ways to remind myself of the theme…everything from a decorative sign with the word, to a piece of jewelry. This year my word is resilient.  All my life I have had to be resilient, and some years more than others.   I know it is this way with everyone to a degree. No one is immune to pain or problems. But frankly, some people are more resilient than others.   I have been studying those who are most resilient and trying to learn from them. With 2017 coming to a close,I have things to bounce back from. There are parts of my life I’m absolutely slaying and other parts that are out of my control. If I could control it, I would have already given everything I have to slaying it.   The challenges remaining are out of the realm of me being able to change them asid...
