What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! They did it!


No surprise, at least in our household nobody thought it was a shock. I mean, they've done it six times by now...it's not like it's rare.

When the Steelers win, I get a double blessing. I do believe they are an awesome team however aside from that, my husband is very happy and it makes for a good week in our house, versus him brooding and analyzing and wondering, "what went wrong?" But of course we are talking about the Steelers here, so those times are few and far between.

My mom loves this team (has since I was in high school). When you think of them, would you pray for her to be born again! She's getting up in age and doesn't know Jesus. 2as1

No celebration here in Houston. Mr. NFL cried. The Steelers knocked his favorite team the Chargers out of the playoffs so he was really cheering for Cardinals!

And I've seen pics of the new puppy...what happened to Gina? I think that was her name...

Pastor Lisa, Geena is with another family. (Truly she is, that is not code for anything else...lol) Geena was not a friendly dog and behavior kept getting worse. Perhaps we should have gotten the Dog Whisperer, but I dunno...anyway, she bit so many people or dogs (and we paid the bills from it) and you just can't have a mean dog in a pastor's home at least a pastor who always has people over. It got to the point where we realized she needed to be with maybe a single person or couple who did not entertain...and perhaps if they sent her to obedience school it would have helped although she is getting very old and probably doesn't have many years left. Anyway, that's what happened to Geena. We gave her to an agency that places with families and does not put them down, and always finds a place for them.

As for Maddie, look for more pics to come! So far Maddie is an angel and only loves up on anyone and everyone. We take her to church and keep her in our office during the services and we let her out right before and after because her bladder is still small and only holds for about an hour and a half to two hours.

Sorry about Mr. NFL's loss...I know it's hard when the team you were rooting for doesn't win and it seems that these boys/men take it so hard...

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
