What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Busy Bee


I have been so busy today and my work is STILL not all done but it's time to hit the sack.

I started out with life coaching this morning and it was a great time as usual. I love my ladies! And what a great group of them I have this year. I taught on time management this morning. (ha! and my work still isn't all done today. I'm a work in progress, what can I say?)

Savanna and Britney were playing together at the church during life coaching, and wanted to do a sleepover at our house so I said yes, as I do say yes whenever I can. We came home and worked all day on much cooking and cleaning and also getting ready for our leadership meeting tomorrow night, which is going to be our most important one EVER. Can't share any of the details yet but trust me on this, it's BIG! I can't wait.

I was very busy all afternoon and evening doing more cleaning, weeding, clothes for church tomorrow. Somehow in between all that made Sunday's dinner and got the table set. (Tom and Cathy are coming over for lunch and to help us with some more stuff on the house Sunday afternoon including our new dimmer switches...among other stuff. It's always somethin'!) Amidst that I also made tonight's dinner of butter baked chicken and other stuff alongside it. Savanna requested it and has been craving it this past week so that's what we had. I try my best to get it to taste like Cracker Barrel's special. Mmmmm...so good.

I'm exhausted...time to give Teeby some love and then shut my eyes and go to sleep. Finally...

you are the busy bee. I'm exhausted just reading all you did yesterday! Where do you get all your energy from? I know you are quiet a bit younger than me.....

I don't know that I have so much energy...I am just always pushing myself and sometimes it gets me in trouble.

I might want to give a disclaimer: "don't try this at home." ha ha

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. Have you chosen a word of the year?

Selecting a personal word of the year has been my custom for many years. The word is my theme of the year and something for me to focus on, to build my faith and to grow. Each year I look for ways to remind myself of the theme…everything from a decorative sign with the word, to a piece of jewelry. This year my word is resilient.  All my life I have had to be resilient, and some years more than others.   I know it is this way with everyone to a degree. No one is immune to pain or problems. But frankly, some people are more resilient than others.   I have been studying those who are most resilient and trying to learn from them.
