What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Sister Wives


Savanna and Larry and I watched Sister Wives on TLC the other night.   I'm so busy I hardly have time to shave both legs in one day these days.  So why take time to watch what many call mindless trash?  It was like passing a bad accident on the road.  You just can't help but slow down and look.

My initial reaction...something is really wrong with Kody Brown. Sitting there watching I said, "Man, this guy really has something wrong with him..."  ("Duh!!!" Savanna says, incredulous. "Mom!!!  Of course there's something wrong with the man!!!  He has three wives and a girlfriend!!!  What more do we need to see to know there's something seriously wrong?")  Well, yes, but there's something even more than that.  I'm telling you, I know it in my knower.  He's got a serious personality disorder.  Maybe narcissistic, and a great actor for sure.  I didn't get the feel that this was reality TV as I do with some other shows.  Everything he said felt like such a show.

I almost lost my dinner when he gathered the "family" to pray. [gag]

I wondered how in the world anyone would get away with a show like this since what they are doing (bigamy)  is illegal.  Yes, it's a 3rd degree felony.  The answer is, they might not get away with it for long..they are already under investigation since the show has aired.
 
He talks of "falling in love over and over and over again."

There is no love about this...he's simply a man being led around by his lower half.

It was like a trainwreck - I couldn't look away!

True Mormons would shun him, because of the polygamy thing - and FLDS people would shun him because he interacts with the real world, and his wives have jobs and don't wear prairie dresses and poofy hair.

So...he can hide behind his "faith" all he wants, but the truth is, he would be completely rejected by any branch of the religion he claims to follow.

I guess it's a plus that the wives were all of legal age at the time of their "marriage," and none of them were forced into it - but yeah...I can't even fathom how any woman would agree to such an arrangement.

As my husband said, "Yeah, you don't share well!"

I fortunately/unfortunately do not get the privilege of watching this because of our lack cable issue right now. But I can tell you this, this guy from what I have seen just on commercials and interviews is definitely "out there". But I wonder what these women are thinking! Seriously, do they just not feel they are worth having a husband to themselves? I mean the idea of another woman in this house...AIN'T gonna happen here! Talk about taking "adultery" to the highest level!

I watched the last quarter and was was more bothered by the women who choose to devote themselves to this man. What in creation happened in their childhood/teen years to make them think that this okay? I'd love to know their family history.

If memory serves me correctly all of them were raised in this lifestyle so it was natural for them to follow in it. The power of a parental example...

This weekend, the Fifty Shades of Grey movie will be released and millions of women are expected to flock to the theat er s.  I will not be one of those women.   As a leader of women , some have asked me about this movie. The following is my thoughtful response. Fifty Shades of Grey has topped best-seller lists around the world. The book series has sold over 100 million copies worldwide, and been translated into 52 languages. It set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time.   Is Fifty Shades of Grey just a harmless book or movie? Although n o one seems to be debating this fact, let’s first establish that it’s pornography.  And not just porn, but a genre that is even more dangerous for women. Relevant Church doing something...

incredibly RELEVANT!

I just heard some news today that really inspired me. A church here in Tampa, Relevant Church is doing a new thing this month called the "30 Days Sex Challenge." (I've never visited the church but Pastor Trinity - our children's pastor - has visited or has met some people from this church and he was very impressed.) Realizing that this is a major element missing from some marriages (the frequency factor) their lead pastor, Paul Wirth, has issued a challenge for all the married couples to have sex for 30 days in a row. At the same time he has issued a challenge for all unmarrieds to completely abstain from sex. Of course we know the Bible says that those who are unmarried should not have sex in the first place but the point is, a lot of unmarried's aren't obeying the Lord's command to abstain and this is just one pastor's way of trying to get them to see that indeed, there is a better way! (God's way!) At the same time, many married couples are not
