What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Stealing hearts near and far...





Little Ashley Mayercak from church saw the photos of Maddie after her accident on facebook and immediately burst out crying, she was so upset.   She just had to come see her in person and show her love.


She asked her Mom if she could get Maddie a gift and make a card.  She did and brought it over yesterday to visit with her.  Maddie steals everyone's heart.  She is our church "mascot".  Everyone just loves her from young to old.

We find such joy being with her.  I talk to her and massage her areas that aren't bruised (what few there are) while Larry searches the internet for more helps on how to care for dogs who have fractured spines.

Please keep praying!  Maddie has been pretty sedate most of the time as she is on Tramadol the majority of the time.  When she first wakes up or after it wears off she is most active.  She is doing well all things considered but we have to keep her still so that the fracture can heal.  This is a challenge.  She wants to get up yet if she did it would be very painful and we have to watch her carefully.  Friday she will experience two major things.  The drain will be taken out of her incisions.  Also, she will be put on steroids.

We are so grateful for all the prayers on her behalf.  Yesterday we noticed that Maddie has over 100 friends on facebook, in fact as of the time I write this she has 126! 

In faith, we see our little Maddie standing on her own four legs again in four weeks!  We won't stop believing!

My Stars class prayed for her last night - so now I've got 14+ animal-loving 3rd-5th grade girls on it, too :o).

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Have you chosen a word of the year?

Selecting a personal word of the year has been my custom for many years. The word is my theme of the year and something for me to focus on, to build my faith and to grow. Each year I look for ways to remind myself of the theme…everything from a decorative sign with the word, to a piece of jewelry. This year my word is resilient.  All my life I have had to be resilient, and some years more than others.   I know it is this way with everyone to a degree. No one is immune to pain or problems. But frankly, some people are more resilient than others.   I have been studying those who are most resilient and trying to learn from them.
