What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Fun Friday Maddie Update!


Jordan holds the bowl up for Maddie to eat while she wears her cone.  But she got messy and the food was spilling out on him, thus his face here...


Picking up the loose food that's falling and putting it back in the bowl...she's able to stand up on two legs to eat, and just rest on her back legs, then we have to lay her back down in the cage, to keep her laying the rest of the time and let the bones heal.  If we let her out, she tries to stand all the time and walk although she's not strong enough yet.  Three more weeks...miracles are happening!


You can see her little scabs that are fallling off...and new skin/hair growing...yeah!


Better view here...you can see that she's going to be made new!   All the pink areas are where the black scabs fell off and new pink skin is underneath and hair is growing back.  We thought her face was going to be permanently disfigured, but God is so amazing she is recovering.

Maddie gets her stitches out this morning!!!

You are so right. God IS working. Maddie looks so much better! As the external is healing, so is the internal...in Jesus name!

She is looking much better - is it wrong to say that I think one of the most comical sights in the world is watching a dog try to eat with a cone on their head? I feel sorry for them and all, but I can't help but giggle at the awkwardness...

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Have you chosen a word of the year?

Selecting a personal word of the year has been my custom for many years. The word is my theme of the year and something for me to focus on, to build my faith and to grow. Each year I look for ways to remind myself of the theme…everything from a decorative sign with the word, to a piece of jewelry. This year my word is resilient.  All my life I have had to be resilient, and some years more than others.   I know it is this way with everyone to a degree. No one is immune to pain or problems. But frankly, some people are more resilient than others.   I have been studying those who are most resilient and trying to learn from them.
