What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Third day of vaca ~ Pittsburgh


Today we were at Kennywood Park all day. It's a family tradition and it's a blast, riding great rollercoasters and eating stuff like funnel cake and corn dogs. We took tons of photos today but they wouldn't all upload tonight for some reason so I'll have to come back and post some more tomorrow if I have time. Not sure how much time I'll have, as we'll be getting up and visiting two or three more Pittsburgh places, and then making a four and 1/2 hour trip to Baltimore tomorrow and visiting with my family there tomorrow night.

By the way, if you've emailed me and are wondering why you haven't heard back from me since Sunday, I'm not returning e-mails until 7/21. Just doing a quick blog update at end of each day but that is...it. Thanks!

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
