What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started i...

Hitting the sack

Very busy day from sunrise to sunset today. I'm exhausted. No energy to blog at the end of the day...I have just been busy with several projects, rehearsals, Easter, and more. GREAT service in Fusion tonight. I've really hit a rhythm with this current series and I'm loving it. Terrific choir practice tonight and we're ready for Sunday. Didn't go with Larry tonight to the TV studio to do the show because I just have too much on the agenda and need to get a few hours sleep tonight. I miss my guys...keeping the bed warm for Larry for when he gets home. We haven't spent a whole lot of time the last two days and have pretty much just passed each other in the halls at church and slept together a few hours a night. I know it's going to be a busy weekend with Easter but despite having a crazy Saturday and Sunday this week I am looking forward to some quiet time with my family on Friday. No one really has any clue what I have on my plate right now. I just need to find my stride with it all. When I get more in the pocket with it, I'll blog something more significant. So many thoughts swirling in this head of mine...so much I want to share. I just need my sleep first.

Praying for you that God will, strengthen your body, refresh your spirit and renew your mind.

I caught the first hour of the show last night, it was awesome especially when Pastor Larry begin to speak on two of the Miracles Jesus performed. Jordan looks like a natural on the screen.

How about after trying to stay awake for the entirety of the show and couldnt, after falling asleep I dreamed about Pastor Larry and Jordan doing the show but it wasnt You & Me, it was you alls own T.V. Broadcast. Ummm, I wonder what's in the making?

WATCH OUT FOR THE
NEW FACEBOOK SCAM!!!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Jordan said, "Mom, you need to put this on your blog and let people know about it so it won't happen to ...

Have you chosen a word of the year?

Selecting a personal word of the year has been my custom for many years. The word is my theme of the year and something for me to focus on, to build my faith and to grow. Each year I look for ways to remind myself of the theme…everything from a decorative sign with the word, to a piece of jewelry. This year my word is resilient.  All my life I have had to be resilient, and some years more than others.   I know it is this way with everyone to a degree. No one is immune to pain or problems. But frankly, some people are more resilient than others.   I have been studying those who are most resilient and trying to learn from them. With 2017 coming to a close,I have things to bounce back from. There are parts of my life I’m absolutely slaying and other parts that are out of my control. If I could control it, I would have already given everything I have to slaying it.   The challenges remaining are out of the realm of me being able to change them asid...
