What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started i...

Fun Friday

Today is my day off and it's not so much fun as relaxing, which I really need and appreciate. At this point it's not over...but I thought I'd blog before midnight since I have been so late in posting this week, and right now I have a totally quiet house.

This morning I got Jordan up for school and then went back to sleep and when I got up my husband made me pancakes. Now THAT is the life. Being honest, I have quite a bit of work left to do this weekend but the Lord has been speaking to me about that whole Sabbath thing so I am determined not to work today. After eating pancakes I took a bath and then got my nails done. It felt so good. Both my hands and feet were so overdue. Larry met me and took me to lunch afterwards at a brand new place called The Hungry Greek. This was amazing, first of all for two reasons:

1) I was hungry.
2) I'm Greek.

In addition to that the food was INCREDIBLE. It was one of those places I had a really hard time selecting what to eat because the aroma was amazing and there were so many choices. After a nice lunch together we had an appointment to take Maddie for her next shot series. I dread it as I can't stand for her to go through any pain but on the other hand I want to be there to wrap her in a blanket and comfort her and bring her home afterwards. Yes, I absolutely treat her like a child. She's been sleeping ever since we got home which is expected after the shots.

Larry took the kids to a youth STL rally tonight and I'm home by myself in the quiet just enjoying a few moments peace. Dustin and Casey stopped by for a sandwich on a way to a party tonight and are coming back later to spend some time. I enjoyed talking with them as well as my friend, Pastor Judi Cotignola who called to talk for a while and is such an amazing woman of God, and encourager. It's been a good day, and...it's not over yet. I have a full day of work tomorrow before me, but I'm not worrying about it, I'm just enjoying today and all that it holds for me.

You have so many friends because you show yourself friendly, encourage, and are open. I have appreciated your likeminded colleage input. Not many pw really feel called to pastor, therefore when you find someone like you you've "gotta love 'em"!
P.S. I love you!

I didn't know you are Greek! Our best friends are Greek! If they are ever that way, I will have to tell them about that place. We love Greek food too. These friends just sent us a box ...belated anniversary gift. I got a robot vacuum cleaner! It's pretty cool. Anyway, you probably liked the "Big Fat Greek Wedding" my friends said that's just like the 'real deal'...windex and all!
Well, I gotta go use my new vacuum and windex! LOL 2as1

WATCH OUT FOR THE
NEW FACEBOOK SCAM!!!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Jordan said, "Mom, you need to put this on your blog and let people know about it so it won't happen to ...

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me. He began to give me my next post for Lost Daughters, where I'm also a blogger. To be honest it's more than just another place where I blog. It's a sisterhood. A lifeline. A place that has come to mean a great deal to me, because of the amazing women who are there. During the service I basically had this entire post...
