What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Reflections from last day of Unstoppable


I was planning on a whopper of a post tonight, but I am just way too wiped out and wanting very, very, very, very much (did I say very) to spend some time with my husband. :-) Um, I haven't been home in three nights...can you tell? lol


This will be a short post again...with the plan of blogging tomorrow night more extensively if my emotions can handle it. It was hard saying goodbye to Tara today. I did great until the last few minutes and then sort of fell apart saying goodbye and a few parting words. It was just way, way, way too short.

My heart is so full from so many treasures this weekend. God has been so good, so faithful.

I can breathe a little more now that the conference is over, however I miss my sisters in ministry so much! There is nothing, nothing, nothing like being with other women who are on this journey. I am blessed to know so many incredible women of God and to have them in my life.

I miss you all...especially Tara (of course!) Melissa, Jessica S., Jessica L., and Carrie. I love ALL of the women who came but I mention these particular women because they came SO FAR to come to Unstoppable...they traveled by air thousands of miles to be with those they are connected with in spirit all throughout the year.

Truly this year's Unstoppable absolutely outdid last year's in every way possible, and I never imagined that happening! I'll share more as time and my heart permits (still processing so much) and I'm sure other bloggers from Unstoppable are going to write about it and give their own reviews.

I'm so over-the-top happy with how it went but now have an awful aching in my heart of missing people...

Only thing that will make this better is spending some special time with Teeb before I go to sleep. Blessings...

I am finally home. Had an amazingly interesting trip home and was greeted by my 4 diaperheads (lol) and my husband who looked like he needed a Unstoppable weekend too. I can't say enough about this weekend. AMAZING! I too am so over whelmed and trying to digest and process everything. I loved meeting everyone SPECIALLY you, Tara, Jessica S, and Carrie as well as Sheryl who I bunked with so to speak. THANK YOU!!!! You gave when you felt like you had nothing to give and I for one am a changed person because of your willingness to serve our Heavenly Father! Girl I love you and can't wait to spend time with you again! I will be blogging later right now I just want to go snuggle with my Honey!

This weekend was something that I so desperately needed. It was so good for my heart, and I laughed harder than I have in a long time. It was wonderful to be able to talk freely and have a ton of fun.

PD, I'm so happy that you had a blast at Unstoppable. My heart was there with you; wish I could've been there. I prayed for you and all the ladies. I'm so glad God showed up and blessed you all. Can't wait to hear more about it.

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Have you chosen a word of the year?

Selecting a personal word of the year has been my custom for many years. The word is my theme of the year and something for me to focus on, to build my faith and to grow. Each year I look for ways to remind myself of the theme…everything from a decorative sign with the word, to a piece of jewelry. This year my word is resilient.  All my life I have had to be resilient, and some years more than others.   I know it is this way with everyone to a degree. No one is immune to pain or problems. But frankly, some people are more resilient than others.   I have been studying those who are most resilient and trying to learn from them.
