What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started i...

Let go and let God

I was pondering what this means the other day when people say this..."let go and let God." What does that really mean?  God spoke to me and said, "it means let go and leave it to me to decide the answer to your prayers."

We pray with the end in mind every time. Knowing what we want to see happen we just keep desperately praying over and over again that God will answer our prayer the way WE want it.  If it's something that is already in God's word that we know He wants (salvation, healing, etc.) then of course it's only appropriate to do that. Some things we don't even have to pray about - they are clearly spelled out already for us in God's Word. But on the other things that aren't so clear, we tell God what we want and how we want it.

Faith is leaving the unknown up to God and trusting Him to make the right decision on our behalf. It's letting go and letting Him decide.

God always answers prayer. Always! He tells us, "yes", "no" or "not now."  Sometimes we accuse him of not answering. But He always does. It's just not what we want to hear.

Do we really trust Him with the outcome?

Boy has that been a hard lesson to learn as of late! When we say, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" we better mean it because that is how God is going to answer it and it may not be what we want to hear. I am learning over and over to trust Him when he says "No" or "not now"...one of these days I might get it if not I am positive there will be more not now or no responses to my question/prayers.
It's a hard lesson for me to learn too. And I agree.

WATCH OUT FOR THE
NEW FACEBOOK SCAM!!!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Jordan said, "Mom, you need to put this on your blog and let people know about it so it won't happen to ...

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me. He began to give me my next post for Lost Daughters, where I'm also a blogger. To be honest it's more than just another place where I blog. It's a sisterhood. A lifeline. A place that has come to mean a great deal to me, because of the amazing women who are there. During the service I basically had this entire post...
