The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director. Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year. God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started inve
It was a great day at Celebration. God showed up and that's all that matters! We have been having breakthroughs every week in people's lives. I'm talking MAJOR stuff...healings from cancer, free operations performed, fantastic job offers coming in, all kinds of stuff that we have prayed and fasted in! We also had one of our missionary heroes with us today -- Monica Jarvis from the Philippines. That's always special, for us to be able to catch up with our missionaries and host them.
After church there was a fine arts lunch (fundraiser) after church that Dustin was in charge of. Actually Dustin in in charge of fine arts and Naomi Clowes, an amazing young woman at church is the fundraising coordinator. They did a cookout today and a water-balloon-a-thon and raised quite a bit of money. God is blessing their efforts not to mention it was a whole lot of fun.
Earlier I posted here that my family was doing something special today and I'd have photos later tonight, God willing. Well, here's the update...
We had planned to have a family day at Clearwater beach today...my first time at the beach all summer. We live just a hop, skip and a jump from the beach, but just haven't made it over this summer, at least as a family. The kids have been -- I haven't. I was so looking forward to it. Last night I made lots of food to stock the cooler with and got everything all laid out including our big umbrellas and floats, and we were all set for a wonderful day at the beach after church. However, it has rained on and off all day, so no beach today. Instead we're home for a family night of movies and games. It's just wonderful to be together, just the five of us, quite honestly. No special photos from today of the fam as we're in our jammies hanging out together, but I do have some fun photos from church today...here's a gift I received...a very special one, from Bonnie and Todd.
Bonnie went to Build a Bear and made me my very own monkey! It's adorable and if you squeeze it's hand, it squeals just like a monkey. She comes in this adorable little carrying bag. Her pajamas are pink leopard pj's. I haven't named her yet, as I'm thinking about a special African name, since the monkeys in Africa are what I enjoy more than anything. She also comes with her own birth certificate. Everything is filled in but her name as I haven't named her yet, but probably will within the next week.
Isn't she just adorable?
So, drumroll please..........................
** Tomorrow...I will give the 4-1-1 on what's happening with Jordan!
