The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director. Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year. God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. Today is the "All God's Daughters" tea at our church. The tables have been set with the finest linens and china, beautiful tea pots, flowers, and all the things that make a high tea special. Homemade scones and devonshire cream, deliciously unique tea sandwiches, scrumptious desserts and more. A very talented young lady from our youth group, Brittany Judson, will be playing classical music on our grand piano during the event. It's going to be beautiful!
Our special guest will be Margaret Register, author of the book, "No Place for Plastic Saints." She is an absolutely delightful speaker who usually starts you out laughing a lot and by the end you have tears streaming down your face. She is one of those people who is so inspiring to me, I could listen to her hours. When she concludes a message I think..."oh man...is that IT? I 'm craving more!" In addition to speaking to us today she'll also have her books available and do a book signing at the conclusion. It's going to be a super day!
I'm so glad to be smack dab in the middle of what God is doing at Celebration Church.
