What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Expectation


I am expecting the presence of God today -- in my life, in our church.  I never want to be guilty of trying to do church without God.  Thankfully if we invite Him with an open heart, and we praise Him, He shows up.   I always tell our church people that with the way I love to sleep, I would never want to get up as early on Sunday morning as I do unless I really thought God Himself was going to show up and do something.  Truthfully nothing I could do on my own would be worth getting up that early for!  LOL   This morning,Maddie got me up at 5:45 AM to go potty out in the cold, dark and damp place that our neighborhood is this morning.  It's time for some hot chocolate and oatmeal! This morning I'm up for Jesus, AND Maddie.  :)

Oswald Chambers is one of my favorite authors, the book My Utmost for His Highest being one I have read many times.  It's the sort of book you never fully digest and get something amazing out of every time you read it.  Chambers once said, "It is not God’s promises we need, it is God Himself.”   How many times do we seek God's hand instead of his face?  How many times do we seek his presents instead of his presence?   There are many things I would like to have in this life, but nothing compares to the presence of God.  

Today is going to be a really busy day with early morning rehearsal, class, church, choir lunch, another rehearsal and then going on a dinner date and to to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra with some good friends.   Still there will be nothing greater than whatever God shows up to do.

Too bad dogs don't know the difference between a day off and a work day ;o).

Enjoy Trans-Siberian...one of these years, they will be in my area on a day when I DON'T have something else going on!!!!

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
