What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! It's ladies night and the feelin's right...

Last night was our women's meeting at my house and quite a few people left before this pic above was taken, but we took it before everybody was gone so we'd have some kind of group pic from the night. What a FANTASTIC night we had. I am still on a little cloud after it...SERIOUSLY. I will share some things in posts to come about what God is doing.

Left to right ~ Patti, Anita, Juleen, Gayle...some of my favorite peeps in the world! I am blessed to have them in my life. By the way, Patti brought the most interesting dish of the night. It was a dessert called, "Sex in a Pan." Of course as people were looking over the food dishes and asked what it was and recieved the answer, it made for a tons of jokes. I won't go into sharing them all here but will just say, it was a good dessert. :-) I will ask her for the recipe and try to post it this week.

And in other news...my husband had a board meeting last night as well that was absolutely off the chain amazing! Um, get ready...seriously folks, change is coming in a BIG way. I can hardly stand waiting...............

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me. He began to give me my next post for Lost Daughters, where I'm also a blogger. To be honest it's more than just another place where I blog. It's a sisterhood. A lifeline.
