What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Part the waters Lord...






My friend LaDonna Jones sent me this video this week and thought it would really minister to me. She was right. I have always loved the song, "I Need Thee Every Hour" and have sung it many times in church as a solo or led it in worship. But I've never heard it with this other song, "Part the Waters Lord." It's beautiful. I'm going to learn it and sing it soon at Northside.

If anybody needs the waters to part in your life, just listen to this...repeatedly if necessary.

By the way, I normally read Oswald Chambers each day in addition to my Bible, and Come Away My Beloved, by Frances J. Roberts. That's my regular custom but right now I've changed things up a bit and I'm reading Streams in the Desert...and OH MY.

Listen to just a portion of the devo from yesterday...

"With patience wait" (Rom. 8:25). Patience takes away worry. He said He would come, and His promise is equal to His presence. Patience takes away your weeping. Why feel sad and despondent? He knows your need better than you do, and His purpose in waiting is to bring more glory out of it all.

Patience takes away self-works. The work He desires is that you "believe" (John 6:29), and when you believe, you may then know that all is well. Patience takes away all want. Your desire for the thing you wish is perhaps stronger than your desire for the will of God to be fulfilled in its arrival.

Patience takes away all weakening. Instead of having the delaying time, a time of letting go, know that God is getting a larger supply ready and must get you ready too.

Patience takes away all wobbling. "Make me stand upon my standing" (Daniel 8:18, margin). God's foundations are steady; and when His patience is within, we are steady while we wait.

Patience gives worship. A praiseful patience sometimes "long-suffering with joyfulness" (Col. 1:11) is the best part of it all. "Let (all these phases of) patience have her perfect work" (James 1:4), while you wait, and you will find great enrichment.

Deanna here again: wow...is this good stuff or WHAT? I guess this is what I'm supposed to be doing while I'm waiting for the waters to part.

Even though I've been 'gone' aka 'unplugged' I was able to stop by a few times via my cell phone to read. Still praying for you.

Several folks 'around' me (and including me) are going through such battles right now. The fighting is fierce, but we KNOW THE VICTOR!

PD many times I have learned that sometimes God calms the storms and other times... the child! I just had the weirdest "attack" from my side of the family. It knocked me off my feet at first because it was all due to my picture being on a conference postcard! (jealousy). The accuser of the brethern was speaking clearly through a drunk. When these type things happen, I often count my blessings of true friends as opposed to fans! We are blessed having eachother. 2as1

Praise God He knows what we need and when! Found this song on a Selah CD we've had and never had really listened to it. I've listened to this song "Part the Waters" all weekend. It's says what's been in my heart.

God is so Good~also the song "Healer" is ministering to me as well. Thank you for sharing this song with us. "Nothing is impossible for Him".

This weekend, the Fifty Shades of Grey movie will be released and millions of women are expected to flock to the theat er s.  I will not be one of those women.   As a leader of women , some have asked me about this movie. The following is my thoughtful response. Fifty Shades of Grey has topped best-seller lists around the world. The book series has sold over 100 million copies worldwide, and been translated into 52 languages. It set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time.   Is Fifty Shades of Grey just a harmless book or movie? Although n o one seems to be debating this fact, let’s first establish that it’s pornography.  And not just porn, but a genre that is even more dangerous for women. Relevant Church doing something...

incredibly RELEVANT!

I just heard some news today that really inspired me. A church here in Tampa, Relevant Church is doing a new thing this month called the "30 Days Sex Challenge." (I've never visited the church but Pastor Trinity - our children's pastor - has visited or has met some people from this church and he was very impressed.) Realizing that this is a major element missing from some marriages (the frequency factor) their lead pastor, Paul Wirth, has issued a challenge for all the married couples to have sex for 30 days in a row. At the same time he has issued a challenge for all unmarrieds to completely abstain from sex. Of course we know the Bible says that those who are unmarried should not have sex in the first place but the point is, a lot of unmarried's aren't obeying the Lord's command to abstain and this is just one pastor's way of trying to get them to see that indeed, there is a better way! (God's way!) At the same time, many married couples are not
