What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Nothing Compares to THIS Day! Here's Why...


Twenty four years ago today at 12:45 AM, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, in Camden, New Jersey... it happened.


 I became the mother of one of the greatest people to ever walk the planet.
And, I met my first blood relative.

It was my first time to ever look into the face of a relative who resembled me in any way.

I will never forget looking into his little face, and seeing something of myself. This was that moment...

Looking at my newborn son while the cord is cut...

The wonder.
The awe.

Life with him has been the best experience, ever.


With his Daddy after getting all cleaned up.

Our new little family, a few days after he was born.

 
His first Sunday in church, one week after birth.

He has always loved pizza. This works out well now that he's a youth pastor.

He has always loved to sleep. He rarely gets to these days, he's so busy.
He has always been drawn to music, and gifted at it.

He figured out how to program the keyboard when he was two.
 
He couldn't wait to drive!
Has always loved dogs. This was his first, Smitty, who we had when he was born.
 
He has always loved to laugh.
 
He always looks so handsome dressed up.

He's has always loved cookies.

He has always made us proud, every day.

Happy birthday, Dustin! You will always be my baby no matter how old you get.

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me. He began to give me my next post for Lost Daughters, where I'm also a blogger. To be honest it's more than just another place where I blog. It's a sisterhood. A lifeline.
