What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I am Deanna and when I'm not working, a perfect day includes staying in my pajamas and cuddling with my bulldog, Manny. Awesome days also include walking, biking, reading, writing, shopping and being out in the middle of nowhere. Coffee is a given in all of this. My guilty pleasure is watching true crime TV.

Dr. Deanna Doss Shrodes is the Women's Ministries Director for the Peninsular Florida District of the Assemblies of God and founder/director of the Stronger Leadership Network. She took on the role of director of PF Women during a challenging time in the department's history and under her leadership, the ministry has achieved a new level in reaching and empowering women across the state of Florida. Deanna is most passionate about investing in leaders and leadership health. 

Deanna is an Assemblies of God ordained minister. She is an in-demand speaker in the United States and abroad and is an accomplished musician, worship leader and recording artist. She is an award-winning writer and sole author of five books and contributing writer of five books. Deanna has been featured in many publications worldwide including the Huffington Post.

Deanna graduated with a masters in leadership from Southeastern University in December of 2018 and a Doctor of Ministry in 2022, also from SEU.

Deanna has been married to her college sweetheart, Larry, for 35 years. They have pastored in the Assemblies of God for as long as they have been married and Larry is currently lead pastor of Celebration Church Tampa, and serves as presbyter for the Tampa Bay area. The Shrodeses have raised three grown children and have one grandchild and two more on the way!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
