What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started i...

What's Unlocks the Answer to Life's Problems?

Serious prayer requests? I've got 'em. I'm sure you do too.

Matters of life and death in people's lives.
Children's futures.
Marriage and family needs.
Inner healing.
Asking God for justice.

I am reminded, we don't always know how God is going to answer, but we need to be faithful in letting Him know what's on our heart.

A while back I decided I wanted to take my bike to some local places I needed to go, and be able to lock it up. Sometimes I'd rather take my bike to a local store or a friend's house than take our car.  So I purchased a bike lock. My kids thought it was funny that I got one that had letters rather than numbers. I hate remembering numbers. I'm an alphabet kind of person.

"Mom, somebody's going to figure out your combination..." Jordan says.

"Why would they figure that out any more than a number combination?" I countered.

"They just will..."

"Oh, nobody's going to figure that out."

"They will if they know you..."

"I don't believe you,"

"Give me that lock! I'll show you!"

I gave it to him and sure enough in less than a minute, he opened it.

"Mom, I know you. Of course you're going to pick pray!"

We had a good laugh.

"Well, Jordan...I highly doubt some stranger on the street will know I picked pray, right?"

Lately I've reaped the answers to some of my prayers in a big way.
The answers didn't come in the way I imagined they would.
In fact, they came in such a different way than I ever thought.

Matter of fact, if you would have told me how they would come, I might not have wanted to go there.

But God knew I needed to go through it in order to get me to the place He wanted me and bring some answers I've waited for a long time. And I'm still waiting on a few.

God will always answer.
Keep asking.
Keep sharing your heart with Him.
Never give up.

As the old song goes, prayer is the key to heaven, and faith unlocks the door.

WATCH OUT FOR THE
NEW FACEBOOK SCAM!!!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Jordan said, "Mom, you need to put this on your blog and let people know about it so it won't happen to ...

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me. He began to give me my next post for Lost Daughters, where I'm also a blogger. To be honest it's more than just another place where I blog. It's a sisterhood. A lifeline. A place that has come to mean a great deal to me, because of the amazing women who are there. During the service I basically had this entire post...
