What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I Need to Learn Love All Over Again



Yesterday God spoke to me that I need to learn about love all over again.
Not from the example of people.
From the source.
Him.

Sometimes even the earthly sources that were designed to receive love from end up in an epic fail.  Not only do we not get love, we get hurt. And then we end up feeling unloved.  It may be someone who we need love from -- a parent or spouse, and for some reason they are broken and don't have the capacity to love.

And it slays us.



Then we imprint our experience with them on God and think that's how He works. But He doesn't. He's perfect. And we miss out on the love of God because we don't trust Him due to our experience with fractured people.

So yesterday regarding this kind of love that I'm longing for, (and will more than likely never get), He said, "Don't project that onto me. Just start again, and learn my love." 

Start at square one and learn of Me.

I made a playlist on Spotify that speaks to me about His love and have been saturating myself in it.

I'm building on this list but it's what I have now. And I just keep listening and soaking in it...marinating while I read my Bible and Jesus Calling and Jesus Today by Sarah Young.

And, I have a big stack of Kleenex next to me, because as I'm letting go of hurts from experiencing faux love, and letting Him speak to me and teach me about love all over again ~ the real kind. His kind.

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me. He began to give me my next post for Lost Daughters, where I'm also a blogger. To be honest it's more than just another place where I blog. It's a sisterhood. A lifeline.
