What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Miracles Evidently Take Time


It's going to take more time.

I thought two days was more than enough time to publish a book and website, both of which were thoroughly ready to go. Apparently I was really naive. 

Either I'm naive, or the enemy really hates me that much, Maybe it's a little of both.  All I know is that normally Sunday evenings are a quiet time when I can get a tremendous amount of work done in peace. Rarely do I have a stressful Sunday night, and I'm telling you, last night was one of the most distracting and difficult nights I've had in a long time. Stuff came out of left field that I never expected, but I think I know where it truly came from...

While fielding constant interruptions of the stressful kind, my husband and I stayed up almost all night, trying to upload and publish. I sent a prayer request on our church Facebook site after midnight for anyone who was still up, asking to pray for us. Our dear friend, John Torres, highly experienced in IT, took it upon himself to head over to our house at 1 am to help out. God bless his soul. I cried grateful tears.

The issues are still not resolved. I got about three hours sleep and woke up to work on things again today, amidst all my other responsibilities.

Thankfully I'm good at juggling a lot, even on little sleep. And if you read my book when it finally comes out, I can teach you how to do that too. :)

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
