What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Why Many People and Organizations Will Never Move Forward


You need to change.

I need to change.

Big time!


The sooner we realize this, the better off we'll both be.

I'm amazed at the people, especially leaders, who don't seem interested in examining what in them or about them needs to change. They are, unfortunately, plentiful.

 I understand not wanting to examine oneself or wanting to change - it's not always pleasant. But for those who grow, it's essential.

I met a good friend of mine for breakfast this morning before work, and we spoke of leadership health and the reluctance people have to look within and see truth. Healthy leaders all do this as well as healthy organizations. Ironically enough where I'm at in reading the word today is I John 1 and it says, "If we claim to be without sin. we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us...if we claim we have not sinned we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." (vs. 8 and 10)

The longer we dig our heels in and refuse to admit our sins, mistakes, faults, oversights, shortcomings or whatever else you want to call them...the longer we can count on a lack of real progress.

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
