What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Rock solid faith in an ever changing world

The biggest thing we have to fear in the midst of or as a result of our adversity is not our actual trial, but a shifting of beliefs that so many seem to develop as a result.

What a tragic thing to allow problems, weaknesses or sin to dictate one's theology.  I thank God that my doctrine isn't based on what I can or can't do but on what HE HAS DONE.  Do I live my life like He's actually DONE IT? 

If you've read my blog for a while you already know I'm no stranger to adversity.  In fact, if you are a personal friend or just a lurker here, do me a favor and pray for Larry and I all day today.  Today is a crucial day for both of us, one that will determine so much for us.  We covet your prayers.  I don't know what I'd do without all my friends who are praying!  Now, with that said, I am believing God's report but no matter the outcome, my faith remains rock solid.  Whatever happens or doesn't happen won't change a thing except for the fact that I plan on developing an ever deepening and growing faith.

Too many times we change our theology to accommodate hardships in our lives, or sensitive issues that come up that may not have considered before or had touch our lives.  Regardless of how culture changes, our faith is designed to be something that doesn't shift with the changing times. The times they may be a changin', but Jesus...not so much.

I'll stick with Jesus.

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
