Yesterday we were having a wonderful lunch with our children pastor and his wife and talking about the reality of doing "double duty" in preparation to have a few days off. We talked about our e-mail boxes filling up and the reality of what you come back to after a few days off. It's interesting, between two jobs, Pastor Adam and I both get upwards of 300 e-mails a day. That's quite a pile up to come back to! Sometimes I dread coming back to work just because of having to catch up on e-mail.
I noticed that in the last day or two my blog stats have gone way down. I'm experienced enough at blogging by now to realize this time it has nothing to do with my content but the fact that everybody is busy Christmas shopping and also doing double duty at work to actually be able to have a few days off. Everyone doesn't have the kind of job that requires that, but people who serve in positions such as vocational ministry understand well that there is A LOT to be lined up in order to have any time off.
So yes, I'm "doubling up" this week to have family time next week. How about you?
