What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started i...

Either we trust God or we don't...

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way." Psalm 37:23

Jordan did not ship out yesterday. It's pretty definite that he won't.

It's okay.

No, not because I'm his Mom and don't relish the thought of any of my offspring leaving.  I am in reality and realize they won't always live with me nor is that God's plan.  I know things and seasons will change.

This is not about me.  At all!   It's about him and what God is doing in his life.

As long as Jordan is surrendered fully to the Lord, things are going to be more than alright.  No the path will not always be easy.  Nobody ever promised that.  But I'm the kind of believer who is fully convinced that when we totally abandon ourselves to the Lord He can't help but intervene on our behalf.

Jordan was dedicated as a baby to the Lord, for His purposes.  Not for mine, not for his Dad's, not for the military's or anyone else's but God's.  And as Jordan surrenders to the Lord, He will have His way.   He IS having His way come hell or high water.  While there are some things that will be much clearer in the days to come that I can talk about more as the days unfold,  let me just say thanks for your prayers and things are going to be more than alright.

We serve Jesus.  This is not a pie in the sky- mamby pamby-cliche ridden-anemic set of values -- but a living, breathing FAITH THAT WORKS.

Since Friday, your face has come to my mind more times than I can count. Each time I have seriously gone to prayer for you and your family. When plans are changed mid-stream, it is ALL GOD! God is stepping in to change the direction of Jordan's ship. I'm praying that he will remain tender to the voice of God, as His child, and that God will clearly show him His path for his life. God's will...God's way! I've breathed a sigh of relief for all of you! I'm still praying, always...for my favorite blogger! xo
Yes, God is control and directing our children's lives. Not necessarily what I thought they should or would do at this point.

But I'm trusting....I'm with ya sis!

Love,
LaDonna

WATCH OUT FOR THE
NEW FACEBOOK SCAM!!!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Jordan said, "Mom, you need to put this on your blog and let people know about it so it won't happen to ...

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me. He began to give me my next post for Lost Daughters, where I'm also a blogger. To be honest it's more than just another place where I blog. It's a sisterhood. A lifeline. A place that has come to mean a great deal to me, because of the amazing women who are there. During the service I basically had this entire post...
