What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Treating your body with dignity

"God honored the Master's body by raising it from the grave. He'll treat yours with the same resurrection power. Until that time, remember that your bodies are created with the same dignity as the Master's body. You wouldn't take the Master's body off to a whorehouse, would you? I should hope not."  I Corinthians 6:14   The Message

Most of us do not literally "prostitute" our bodies but think about the fact that we do allow ourselves to be "used" by others many times at harmful expense to our bodies.  Time and again I have been guilty of putting my body last on the list.

Sometimes God has to give a wake up call. I have had one and have been treating my body with dignity and am resolute to continue.  I can't ever afford to get off track again and allow it to be used for anything other than the purposes of God.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual[a] act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."   Romans 12:1,2 (NIV)

Recently while struggling with a physical condition I felt unworthy to even pray for a miracle, although I totally believe in the supernatural miracle working power of God.   My feelings were due to guilt and shame from my disobedience in abusing my body and allowing it to get in bad condition.  A friend reminded me that "His mercies are new every morning."  I can boldly go before God's throne despite my mistakes, failures, and sins -- because His mercy  has covered me.  Thank God for grace. 

An important point however is that just because I have received His grace, it is not a license to be disobedient.  The same grace that extends forgiveness to us also gives power to walk it out everyday and live it.

Today I too am thankful for His mercy and grace! I am learning ever so diligently to trust in His mercy on a moment by moment experience. Learning and trusting Him to guide my every step and bite in this new, refreshed and daily walk to take care of this body too! Love ya! :)

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
