What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Pre-Thanksgiving @Shrodes


Savanna enjoys some morning reading and has Maddie duty while Momma makes pies.  She loves school but she told me last night she sure enjoys days like this too where she can sleep and read.  Me too.  :)

Here's the finished product!   I make 'em from scratch, just like Grandma...

 
Setting up two tables in our dining room as well as a few tray tables.  


Maddie parks herself by the window to watch as Daddy preps the jacuzzi for lots of family/friends to enjoy...


She says, "Yep, I know my family loves me!"  Today she even spent some time with us on the patio, while I wiped down furniture, Larry cleaned the jacuzzi and we put out some special stuff for tomorrow night, as we plan to congregate here on the patio with the fireplace and candles, once it gets dark.   We'll get in the jacuzzi, swing on our swings, talk and drink coffee.  MMMmmm perfect night.


Just can't get enough of this sweet girl...she lights up our life every day.  She will be in heaven tomorrow with all these people here to pet her and love on her.  She's such a people person.  (Larry always corrects me, "hon, she's not a person."  Well, to me she is.  End of story.) 

 
Isn't she healing beautifully?  We are so BLESSED!  Our Thanksgiving miracle.

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
