What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I'm not shopping.


Most people I know headed out to shop at the crack of dawn today.  I  have absolutely no interest in shopping on "Black Friday", nor have I ever.   I enjoy shopping, (only when I have money to spend - hate window shopping!) but the reason Black Friday doesn't appeal to me is that it involves large crowds and long lines. Yeah, I know that sounds bizarre for someone to say who's always getting up in front crowds large and small, talking.  But it's just who I am.  I try to go to stores or restaurants or whatever when the least amount of people are there.

I'm really going to enjoy a quiet day at home today pulling out my Christmas decorations and putting up my trees which is what I always do the day after Thanksgiving.  This is really important to me.  If you want to know why I will be putting up at least five Christmas trees this year, read this.

I'm with you on the "Black Friday" thing...we usually go out later in the day, get our Caribou Hot Apple blasts, and walk through the mall drinking them and looking at the decorations. I stay FAR AWAY from department stores, though!!!! In in my humble opinion? 5:00 am on my day off is for SLEEPING, not shopping!!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching.
