What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started i...

Attention all those trying to navigate the waters of marriage and ministry...

My dear friend, Pastor Lisa Alexander has written a book which is being released March 16! I encourage you to take advantage of this great resource.

Following is the press release concerning her book, "Marriage and Ministry."

The continued number of high-profile divorce cases among Christian leaders continues to chip away at the fabric of the church. Author, wife and co-pastor Lisa N. Alexander in her debut ebook, Marriage and Ministry: Successfully Working Marriage, Family and Ministry Together serves as a go-to guide for couples who serve in ministry. She shares God's ideal plan for sustaining both the marriage and the ministry and shares practical truths learned over 20 years of marriage.

Leadership coach and minister Karen M. Pina of GOD's Coach says, “This literary piece . . . teaches how to have a marriage, family, and ministry that glorifies God and brings understanding to the purpose of marriage.”

This book also “. . .corrects marriages that are out of order and convicts out of order marriages to get back in order,” Pina states.

“The ebook is written from a loving place and I hope readers can sense my genuine concern about their ministry and marriage and my sincere desire for both to succeed,” says Alexander.

The ebook Marriage and Ministry: Successfully Working Marriage, Family and Ministry Together covers such topics as:

Which Comes First…Marriage or Ministry?
Power is Attractive. It’s Outright Sexy!
Healthy Marriage, Healthy Ministry
How to Rear the Un-stereotypical Preacher’s Kid

Bio: Pastor Lisa N. Alexander creates for the printed and electronic page. Whether she's merging photo and copy for a brochure or contributing to blogs and magazines; her passion always leads her back to the same blank page to create something worthwhile. Her first ebook, Marriage and Ministry is a worthwhile project borne from her 20 plus years of marriage and time spent serving in ministry. She currently serves as pastor along with her husband Elgin Alexander of the Zion Tabernacle Christian Church in Houston, TX.

Will be available to purchase as an ebook on March 16 at http://www.ellisvalin.com/. Price is $9.99.

WATCH OUT FOR THE
NEW FACEBOOK SCAM!!!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Jordan said, "Mom, you need to put this on your blog and let people know about it so it won't happen to ...

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me. He began to give me my next post for Lost Daughters, where I'm also a blogger. To be honest it's more than just another place where I blog. It's a sisterhood. A lifeline. A place that has come to mean a great deal to me, because of the amazing women who are there. During the service I basically had this entire post...
