What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started i...

Weekend Wrap Up and What's Happening

I know, I know...everybody who reads my blog in the morning, especially my sister Kim, is disappointed that I didn't post til 10:41 tonight. Sorry guys. Things have been a lih-tle crazy. Between our busy ministry schedule and getting our refrigerator, microwave and dryer fixed (yes, when it rains it pours) I have had a few other extra things on my plate that I don't normally have either so............

I find myself posting late tonight and a day behind on my "through the Bible in one year" bible reading so I have eight chapters to read tonight. Okay, some quick bullet highlights from this weekend:

We did a major amount of cleaning Saturday. It's never done though...

After cleaning we went out with Pastor T and Misty to a nice dinner. Always a great time to be with them.

  • Thanks to all of you who went over and gave a shout out and your prayers at Pastor T's blog. It means so much. He has people all over the world praying for Him. We are confident, he will not just survive, he will thrive! He was amazed at all of you who came over. Please continue to stop by his blog. If you are just reading this about his blog for the first time, go over here as soon as possible.

Sunday was a great day all around. We had a powerful morning service...one of the best ever. God is doing great things!

We've been continuing to enjoy our sweet Madeline and at the same time work on potty training her. It's just like a child...what a job. I've included a few pics of her here with Jordan after he got home from work tonight. You can see she's growing so much...just 8 weeks and she is growing by leaps and bounds.

Savanna made the honor roll again this quarter! Way to go Rosie girl!

I had a lot of Bible reading and blog reading to catch up on tonight before bed. I busted through a lot of work today including things for my women's meeting tomorrow night where I'll be casting the vision for the year.

Last but not least, my friend Tara Sloan did a post tonight that almost made me spit out my iced tea...go here to read it...

Lots of other things going on that I'm praying about but not ready to blog about...thanks for reading and being my friend.

Always,

WATCH OUT FOR THE
NEW FACEBOOK SCAM!!!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Jordan said, "Mom, you need to put this on your blog and let people know about it so it won't happen to ...

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me. He began to give me my next post for Lost Daughters, where I'm also a blogger. To be honest it's more than just another place where I blog. It's a sisterhood. A lifeline. A place that has come to mean a great deal to me, because of the amazing women who are there. During the service I basically had this entire post...
