What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I will praise You through the pain


Today I am home sick. No, not homesick as in longing for Baltimore (although I'd love some steamed crabs) but home...sick. This is an online card/bouquet that Larry sent me today from the office. He always tries to make me feel better. I woke up with a migraine...added to the earache I already woke up with yesterday morning. I know what some of you are thinking...this woman...if it's not her tooth it's her ear or whatever. You're right.

Honestly I am pretty much used to pain of some sort. I take a sick day at home but still work. Maybe that is part of my problem -- I nurse a migraine or whatever kind of ache by sending up a prayer, taking a "faith enhancer" as my friend Pastor Sandy calls it (faith enhancers are any kind of legal drugs/prescriptions), and get a heating pad on one side and my laptop on the other.

There is no good time to get sick I guess...and with Easter coming up and stuff, I don't have time to lay here and be sick. I have to rest and work in spurts. Besides that, I have to be at church tonight. Not only am I the only worship leader in the sanctuary but I also have a choir practice for Easter. Please don't take it that I "have" to be at church, versus "wanting" to be there. I love the house of God. Love it, love it, love it. I do wish I could have tonight off because my body does not feel well. Yet I know that when I begin to worship the Lord it always improves.

So I will go. I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
