What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Are you married to your opposite?

Sometimes the perfect combination is the complete opposite.

Larry and I are tag team preaching tonight for The Well, a church in New Smyrna Beach, FL, at a couples event they are hosting. There isn't enough room for all of the couples who will be attending so they have had to make arrangements to hold the event at the First Presbyterian church. That's a great problem to have!

We're going to talk about many of our favorite subjects regarding marriage, one of them being the fact that opposites can not only survive but thrive in marriage.


For those of us who are married, here's an important truth...if both of you were the same, one of you would be unnecessary! God has given us a partner to enrich our life, not reflect it. Larry and I used to mistakenly believe that everything one of us did was a reflection on the other. Not true. Things got a lot better once we released each other from this false expectation.


Think about it -- we're made in God's image. Whose reflection are we?  We're His reflection.



Big problems come when we think or say, "I wish my spouse was more like me..." or "I wish I could change my husband/wife." (So they could become like me.)


They aren't designed to be a reflection of you, but of the One who created them.


Once this gets straightened out in a relationship every goes much smoother.


Pray for us as we minister to couples tonight in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. May God do a tremendous work in hearts and lives for His glory!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
