What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! What should your role be?

Many people ask me this who are new to leadership or ministry, or those who are headed to a new location and with it a change in responsibilities or opportunities.

My advice is always the same.  I would encourage you to not seek a role. Just focus on making a difference.  In doing so the role takes care of itself.

Have I ever cared about roles?  Yes. It was a waste of time. Hindsight is 20/20. 

Today I could care less about roles and quite frankly sometimes I'm sick of them.  I'm terrible at role playing, but never tire of making a difference.

I believe it's the same for most people whether they know it or not.  Roles tend to be prescribed and since God has made us all so uniquely, rare is the person who fits the prescription exactly.

Just something to think about.

Great post and oh so true. For me it's about remembering why God has given me the opportunity and or responsibility and what does He want me to do with it. As I take on the Women's ministry in our church this coming year, I have so many questions and so much I want to accomplish, yet I sense the Holy Spirit reminding me, "this work is mine not yours - seek me and I'll show you the way." That is when I have to step back and say "here I am Lord, do what you will with me and with YOUR ministry."

Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20!! We we try to look for a role, a place to serve....we choose incorrectly many times.....if we are serving Him, we have to wait until He tells us what to do for Him! :) Don't think I always knew this!! Learned it the hard way like everyone else after finally deciding to pray and WAIT and being surprised by what He really wants me to do!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching.
