What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Mexico Memories II

I was delighted by everything from these cool watermelon carvings on the buffets to the ice sculptures.   I love details!!
The Solarium (adults only pool) where I spent a lot of my time.  It was quiet in there. Loved it!   Nothing but adults silently paddling around in the water or just quietly sitting on the edge getting their feet wet.  This was one of the special places where I decompressed during the week. 
Larry and me on the deck at sunset.  My  hair was blowing up during this photo but I liked it anyway.  Usually sunset was in between the evening show and dinner and we always went out to the balcony to catch the sunset.  I love sunsets!
This was my favorite dessert of the week.  It was on "lobster night" and was a trio of some of the most scrumptious desserts.  The chocolate thing in the center was AMAZING!!!  So rich!  (Did I mention I gained two pounds on the cruise but have already taken them off since coming home?  Got right back on program...) 
Our servers sang for us on the last night.  It was so touching.  I have to admit it, I'm a sentimental sap and I cried while they were singing.
I know these are Mexico photos but I just have to say, I was so glad to see this face when I got home!!  They were soooooo excited to see us.  The kids took good care of them, and we are so grateful.  But we did miss our puppies terribly!!  Jordan took this photo of Max chillin with us on our bed after we got home from the cruise.   They've been a little extra clingy these past few days, making sure we're "really home" and not going anywhere.

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
