What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Jordan's Senior Showcase



Last night was Jordan's senior showcase and it was just delightful. He and Megan Russo did a drum duet. They utilized everything but drums! It was uniquely amazing. They had garbage cans, shopping carts, and all kinds of other "junk" and this is what they did their duet with, banging on all kinds of "junk" and creating different sounds. It was so creative and fun. I know I am partial, after all I'm the Mom, but Janis (Megan's Mom -- who is also partial) agreed...these kids brought down the house and they were bar none, THE best!

The Russo's taped it and I'm hoping to get a copy and if and when I will post it on the blog.

Last night was Jordan's last thing for high school, except for the actual graduation ceremony which will be next week. It was a real celebration last night. He is now out of school with no more classes and he is just thrilled, and so are we.

We are about to cross a new milestone -- graduation with our second child and it's so hard to believe we're at this point. Seems like yesterday he was a little tyke standing on the roof of McDonalds!

We can't wait to see Jordan's tape. PSU has a group that performs in the area and at games. We also enjoy "STOMP."
My DH is a drummer. This takes talent! Keep up the good work , Jordan!

In the early hours of this morning, Jordan got home from work and checked his facebook and instantly received an IM from a friend who claimed to be in London, having been just robbed at gunpoint. Understandably Jordan was very concerned. His friend said he needed Jordan to send him some money immediately, as he was stranded. Jordan immediately alerted his father and I of the situation, thinking it was real and his friend needed help and wanted to know what he could or should do to reach out. Thankfully I had just heard on the news the day before that this was a new facebook scam where people were hacking into people's accounts and contacting their friends to ask for money, saying that they were in dangerous or dire situations. I alerted Jordan and we contacted his friend and his friend's parents and sister to get ahold of him immediately to take care of his account. Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
